From Lyon
We collect you from your hotel in Lyon and take you into the Mâconnais or Beaujolais: a day of cellars, villages and stories, with no group and no coach timetable.
A private wine tour from Lyon begins at the door of your hotel. No meeting point on a busy square, no minibus waiting to fill up, no group to wait for: your chauffeur-host greets you, the electric saloon is ready, and the road to southern Burgundy opens up to the north, by motorway or by the back roads depending on the weather and your mood. About an hour later, you are among the vines.
Mathis comes from Mâcon. He knows the estates of the Mâconnais and the Beaujolais crus, which ones are happy to welcome guests in English, where to eat well on a weekday, which cellar is worth the detour for a lover of white wine or a devotee of Gamay. Our team builds the programme around your tastes, books the tastings and the table in your name, then sends everything to a private web page. Some stops remain hidden there: you discover them on the day, one by one.
On the Mâconnais side, the day might pass beneath the Rock of Solutré, the limestone spur that gave its name to the Solutrean, a period of prehistory, then through the villages of Pouilly-Fuissé, whose premier cru vineyards have been officially recognised since the 2020 vintage. On the Beaujolais side come the granite hills, the old windmill of Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie or Morgon. Many guests choose a little of both: Chardonnay in the morning, Gamay in the afternoon, and the road in between told like a chapter of a book.
The rest is a matter of thoughtful touches. Cold drinks on board, a small local gift when you least expect it, instant photographs taken by your chauffeur in front of a vineyard or a cellar door and handed to you straight away. In the cellar Mathis translates; on the road, with his love of local history, he tells of the Dukes of Burgundy, the monks of Cluny, the harvests of yesterday and today. Your bottles ride in the boot all the way back to Lyon.
At the end of the day you are dropped back at your hotel without having opened a map or checked a timetable. Paid tastings and lunch are settled on site, at the public price. Design, bookings, your chauffeur-host, the vehicle and the surprises are all included in a per-person rate confirmed before anything is booked.
Your exact route is composed for you. Some stops may remain a surprise until the day itself.
Extended day, 9 to 10 hours, longer distances. Price per person, taxes included. Minimum 2 guests. Firm quote within 24 hours.
Allow about an hour to reach the Mâconnais or the northern Beaujolais crus. The whole day lasts 9 to 10 hours, driving included. That leaves time for two tastings and a proper lunch.
The Mâconnais is mostly white wine country, made from Chardonnay, with Pouilly-Fuissé at its head. The Beaujolais crus are the home of red Gamay. If you cannot decide, we combine both in the same day.
No, never. The car, the chauffeur-host and the programme are for you alone, in the saloon or in the partner van for up to eight guests. You share neither the timetable nor the table with strangers.
The per-person rate for an extended day is shown on this page and varies with the number of travellers. You receive a firm quote within 24 hours. Paid tastings and lunch are settled directly on site.
Yes, as long as your boat stays alongside long enough. We fit pick-up and return around the stopover times, with a comfortable margin. Just tell us when you need to be back on board.
You tell us what you enjoy, we design a programme and send it to a private page with a firm price. Payment is made online, securely, and the cancellation terms are shown there before you pay anything.
Tell us the occasion. We imagine the rest.
